LPII Timeline and Application Procedures
Each component of the LPII is opt-in, but they must be completed in sequence: you must attend a Language Assessment Workshop before (re)designing assessments; a redesigned assessment must be completed before applying for a curriculum design grant. All participants must also undergo ACTL Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) training. For more information, please visit our LPII page.

Timeline – 2025/2026
- October 13, 2025 (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM): LPII Information Session, on Zoom (contact Cathy Baumann for link: ccbauman@uchicago.edu)
- October 27, 2025: Test Design & Development applications due
- November 14, 2025 (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Language Assessment Workshop, in person
- November 21, 2025 (4:00 PM – 8:00 PM): Test Design and Development Refresher Workshop (for returning test developers), in person
- November 22-24, 2025: Test Design and Development Workshop, in person
- December 15, 2025: Test Designs due
- February 16, 2026: Test Development due
- April 6, 2026: Curriculum Design Workshop Application due
- April 24, May 1, May 8, and May 15, 2026: Curriculum Design Workshop, in-person, four Friday afternoons, 4-8pm
