ARCA Exam Dates
The ARCA is administered once per quarter.
Effective Winter 2026: All languages for ARCA will be held online on the Monday of Week 6 at 6:00pm.
If you are registered for the ARCA, you will receive a confirmation email one week prior to the exam.
ARCA Exam Offerings
Students can register for the ARCA exams just as they would for a course (although the ARCA is not offered in every language every quarter).
The following ARCA exams are offered every quarter by default:

The following exams are offered by request, dependent upon two conditions: first, that students request the test by emailing academicreadingexams@uchicago.edu before Week 3 of the quarter preceding the administration of the test, and second, that the OLA is able to hire qualified test developers who can create and grade the exam in that language.

Once students register for an exam, the Office of Language Assessment (OLA) will contact them via e-mail regarding room locations and other logistical details five-to-seven days before the exam date.
